Our next Software Engineering Leaders Forum will take place in Glasgow, and will be led by BJSS.
The quarterly S.E.L.F group provides a forum for software engineering leaders, CIO’s and CTO’s across the Scottish tech sector to share ideas and explore common challenges. The meetups also provide opportunities for informal mentoring and potential opportunities for joint working.
For this session, we’ll be joined by BJSS Regional Capability Lead, Leigh Rankin, who will kick off a discussion around Sustainability and Greener Software Engineering.
Green software development is an approach that prioritises energy-efficient patterns and processes throughout the delivery lifecycle. Leigh will explore some of the techniques BJSS used to help a leading Microsoft Xbox Gaming Partner save enough electricity to power over 12,000 homes for a year, whilst also delivering improved speed, agility, security, and reliability throughout their development pipeline.

Now in its 10th year, Scotland’s largest annual cyber security summit will host a sister event in Glasgow, Scot-Secure West. The event brings together senior InfoSec personnel, IT leaders, academics, security researchers and law enforcement, providing a unique forum for knowledge exchange, discussion and high-level networking.
The programme is focused on improving awareness and best practices through shared learning: highlighting emerging threats, new research and changing adversarial tactics, and examining practical ways to improve resilience, detection and response.
